Eight total, 4 from Louisiana, indicted on drug charges

Drug charges must be taken seriously as they are associated with serious penalties and consequences. Eight individuals were recently indicted, including 4 individuals from Louisiana, in relation to an alleged multi-state drug ring. The individuals are accused of trafficking drugs in Louisiana and several others states following an expansive drug investigation. The individuals are accused of trafficking heroin and cocaine. The wide-ranging drug investigation is reported to have been a several-year operation.

One of the accused individuals is facing multiple drug charges including conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute, as well as others. All of the accused individuals are facing drug charges including conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine. Some of the accused individuals are also facing additional charges. One of the accused individuals allegedly purchased drugs from another of the accused individuals and packaged the drugs for redistribution. Those arrested ranged in age from their 30s to their 50s.

The alleged drug operation is suspected to have begun in 2012. In addition to forfeiting the proceeds from the alleged drug operation, the accused individuals face additional potential penalties and consequences. Drug charges, including federal drug charges, are serious criminal charges and can result in the loss of freedom through incarceration and other significant penalties and consequences. It is important to keep in mind that accused individuals also have resources available to them to defend against criminal charges including drug charges whenever they are facing them.
